Time flies...

So, I have a pretty busy month. I have my last day of clinical this coming Tuesday, I can't believe I am already at the end!

On April 8th we are going to see Wicked up in SLC! I love this play...I am soooo stoked!

Then on the 17-20th I am flying with one of my professors and another student to present a poster about our experiences in Ecuador at Yale! It is for the Unite for Sight conference.

I am pretty excited! I just started working on the poster today and found out there are going to be 2,500 people there! holy crap....not to mention like 60 different countries. I am really grateful for the opportunity! There will be more to come!

Next, GRADUATION on the 23 and 24th! My family is flying in and Heath's family will come down from SLC! I can't wait!!

FINALLY, Heat and I are going on a little get away right after graduation to GUATEMALA! We will be seeing some of these sites:

Tikal Ruins
Lake Atitlan

Heath served in the Guatemala City North Mission, so it will be fun to go back and see some of the sights before we get too busy with life! It is going to be a busy month, but I plan on loving every minute of it!!

oh, by the way...

So I never really said much about Heath going to DC for the Inauguration!

So, he went with this group called UPIC through the Golden Key club. Well, UPIC has been in the news a little lately, some unhappy customers among other things. but we wont go there!

So here are a few pictures Heath took while he was there!

He wasn't able to get close enough to see the actual inauguration, but he did get a pretty sweet seat for the parade. In fact, the Obamas got out of their limo right before they got to where he was and he was able to get this picture!

Heath saw Gov. Huntsman at the DC airport and decided to take the opportunity

While he was there he was able to hear a couple of interesting speakers, Colin Powell (see picture) and Al Gore among others

And a shot in front of the Capitol!

23

So my birthday was on the 18th. [thank you to all of you who remembered!]

However, I actually celebrated on the 16th, due to Heath going to DC for the inauguration which he was invited to attend by one of the honor societies he is a part of.

We celebrated by going snowshoeing up at Soldier Hollow. It was really fun! I had been wanting to try it, so we got adventurous and broke away from the books for a few hours. Afterward, we came home and got cleaned up then ventured up to the Riverwoods. We ate dinner at Shoots when we saw the line for Tucano's--I should have known trying two new things in one day was too much....

Here are some pictures from our adventure!

We've done a few other fun things of note as well!

Home made pizza on our pizza stone....

Puppy chow/Muddy buddies (whichever you prefer to call them)...

And finally, we decided to try out our bullet blender and make chocolate mousse--we saw it on an infomercial...dubbed in spanish....but it looked tasty! although i thought it needed some sugar added to it...

And FINALLY, Heath and I had our 6 month anniversary on the 15th! Time sure does fly!

Christmas Break Update!

Finals ended and the celebration began! Heath's birthday was on the 19th of December, so we celebrated by going out to dinner and enjoying no more homework and studying!

Heath with my presents I gave him! Like that ghetto newspaper wrapping paper?

Heath Modeling my gifts :)

So Christmas was fantastic! Heath and I spent a few days with his parents up in Holladay! Then we boarded a plane and headed to TULSA! yay!

When we landed in Denver, we saw the plane that ran off the run way...

It was so good to finally get to Tulsa. We did a lot of fun things while we were there!

We went to Ted's Cafe' Escondido with some of my friends from High School

Me and Corey:

We also went to the Oklahoma City Temple with my parents:

And then we went to see the Oklahoma City bombing Memorial

Where we met up with my dear friend Bekah!

Survivors tree

Outside the memorial is this statue donated by the local Catholic church

We stopped to get some amazing BBQ on the way home

It was built in an old gambling hall and had some interesting posters on the walls:

Really Ronald?

For New Years we spent it with some friends in my home ward Ginger and Jared, Zane and Michelle, Heidi and Nate and Jordan and Sonja (newly engaged!)

Happy New Years!!

Heath and I watching Jared set off fireworks in his back yard

When we got back to Utah, we went to the BYU v. Wake Forest game with Joanna and Jimmy Joe and some of their friends!

It was a great game, but unfortunately BYU lost in the end....

But it was a GREAT Christmas Break! and soooo good to finally catch up on some sleep!

Hello 2009!

So, a friend of mine did this. She made goals (her's was 22 by 22) seeing as I am about to turn 23 (January 18th for those of you who care or forgot) I've decided to do 24 by 24. I even have a head start, so no excuses, right? So here they are:

  1. Go running twice a week, every week.
  2. graduate from BYU
  3. participate in a 5K--preferably for a foundation, i have my eye on the Susan G. Komen Foundation on May 10th here in SLC.
  4. Post on this blog more, like at least once a month--ill try not to bore you...
  5. Get my first real job!
  6. floss my teeth like once a week at least--sorry if that grosses you out.
  7. Go to the temple at LEAST once a month
  8. actually hang pictures on the wall and finish decorating my apartment
  9. make a study plan for the NCLEX
  10. Take the NCLEX and rock it.
  11. Call people more...family, joanna, taylor, beka...there are too many people I keep too little of contact with....
  12. Read a book for leisure. I am taking suggestions...
  13. Make some ground on my genealogy.
  14. Learn how to make family names temple ready and finishing their temple work.
  15. Go to Lake Tahoe...let's face it, its beautiful and it would be fun :)
  16. Go to Guatemala. Heath says Lake Atitlan is even prettier than Lake Tahoe, plus it would be cool to see his old mission stomping grounds.
  17. See Tiffany after she gets home from her mission!!! (MAY!)
  18. Do my visiting teaching EVERY month.
  19. Take my car to get a tune up (oil, breaks, ya know)
  20. plan at least one other meal a week, besides Sunday dinner :)
  21. be able to do 10 push-ups without my arms being so sore its ridiculous....it really is pathetic
  22. Get more sleep (at least approach 8-9 hours a night...)
  23. Learn how to use photoshop better
  24. enjoy the outdoors more--hiking, bike riding, skiing, etc.

So there you go! My plans over the next year and 18 days! I'll keep you updated as to how I am doing.

I also saw this link on another blog. It was kind of interesting, hope you enjoy!

Oh, and Happy New Year!

Commercials

Does any one remember these commercials?

holy cow. I just don't get commercials...Let me know if you have any other ones that you think are odd, stupid, funny, whatever. I just find it interesting the way that companies try to get you to buy their stuff. To be honest, it doesn't really work for me. But i will hand it to them, I do get a laugh from some of them, even if it is at their expense ;)

Update:

So Heath and I are still alive....We are just finishing up with finals and we each have one left (as I type this I am reviewing, or perhaps procrastinating reviewing the ethical issues involved in end of life care...oh ICU...)! I will be so glad when this semester is over, although I canNOT believe that I am already in capstone...It will be so much fun! Which reminds me, I haven't even said where I will be! I will be at UVRMC (Utah Valley Regional Medical Center) here in Provo!

I am going to be in the Cardiac ICU stepdown Unit! I am really excited and have heard a lot of good things about the unit! A little closer to actually being a real nurse everyday!

Heath's birthday is this coming Friday!

We are going up to SLC to celebrate with his extended family. It will be really fun to see everyone!

We are spending Christmas in Oklahoma this year.

We leave on December 24th and come back on January 2nd, so it will be a good trip! I am hoping that I will get to see some of my good friends while I am back :)

Let's see...nothing else too exciting yet. Maybe I'll get some good pictures from this weekend? I guess you'll just have to check back and see!
