Birthday, part 2

I am officially 25! Doesn't feel one bit different to be honest! It's been a great one though!

Here's the follow up! (I'm pretty proud that I am actually writing this now, and not in February. Sweet.)

Heath and I survived snowboarding! The Canyons was great, as was our instructor, Rube! But I have to say, I am sooooo sore today! arms, legs, SORE! But we had so much fun!

It was suuuuper slick on the snow, but it was so great to learn together!

I love doing anything with this man. It's always fun!

After a long day of snowboarding we packed up our things and headed down to SLC to see Heath's parents! We went out to dinner at the Outback Steakhouse, then came home and opened some presents! Gotta love Birthdays! Plus. There was CAKE!

It's always sad to see our long weekend getaway end, but it was so fun and full of memories!

Birthday Weekend, part 1

It's my birthday! (on Tuesday, you still have time to get me an awesome present *winkwink*) Heath and I are spending the weekend prior to my birthday up in Park City at my grandparents' condo--sweet, right? I thought so. We've been getting some much need R&R.

sunset from our back porch last night :)

Tomorrow, Heath & I are going snowboarding at The Canyons. Remember this post? We'll consider this to be our "to be continued". We are taking a class, seeing as Heath has never actually been snowboarding before, and I haven't been in so long, I figured it would probably be a good idea! Plus, it's no fun to do it alone!

I will post a 'Part 2' after tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Snow Day!

Today started off pretty frustrating....Heath and I had planned to go up to the Canyons in Park City to take snowboarding classes. It snowed over a foot yesterday and last night--perfect powder. So, perfect day, right? Kind of wrong....

So we left our house, the roads were, not the greatest, yet we plugged along. We arrived at the mouth of Provo Canyon, ready to navigate whatever it had in store for us. Denied. We needed either chains or 4WD. We had neither.

So we head into Orem to buy chains. After many different stores, we found one that actually sold chains (it was almost comical how many stores we tried). Chains on the tires, we drive back toward Provo Canyon. CANYON CLOSED. Denied AGAIN!

My first thought, "Are you serious???". I'm pretty frustrated at this point because, you see, we had reservations with the Canyons...reservations that per their online statement are "non-refundable". Snowboarding isn't cheap. At this point I was pretty sure I was out some major (to me) cash! I made Heath call the Canyons, because, if I am being honest, with the state of mind I was in, I would have either flown off the handle or started crying if they said what I thought they might say....

Let me just tell you, they were SO NICE and UNDERSTANDING! Huge sigh of relief! We got a voucher and plan to take the class in the near future.

So, to make our day fun, we went and bought some disk sleds and headed to Rock Canyon Park for some sledding! We made a few snow angels at the end--what else is there to do in untouched snow?? It was a good day! Enjoy some pics!
