Design. Vol 7

This volume, Family Rooms.

For me, a family room needs to be comfortable, coordinated and clean. It's where you spend time with the family, unwind after a long day and entertain guests.

I like clean lines and comfortable furniture. A must in my future family room. Here are some of my picks from BHG.

A classic look, a little country.
I like the fireplace and the clean colors.
Bright, contemporary yet not too out of control for my personal style.

Law School Visits

So Heath starts law school this fall. To decide where to go we made a few visits to out of state schools to make a more educated decision.

We started with California in February--we were accepted to UCLA and USC--UCLA was our favorite choice. It was a gorgeous campus! Full of gothic architecture:

Next came the University of Texas-Austin. Not gonna lie, we liked the idea of being closer to my parents in good ole Oklahoma. Plus Austin is an awesome town! Full of music, green space and wonderful people. The school was great too!

Last but not least, we headed to Charlottesville, Virginia to check out the University of Virginia. What a beautiful area! the Shenandoah Valley is GORGEOUS!! No lie. And so was the campus.

It was fun to get to travel around the country. So many wonderful places and opportunities! We finally made our decision and as it turns out, we're going to be staying here in good ole Provo, UT for the next three years! We're really excited about the opportunities BYU has to offer us + my current job + a scholarship = we're feeling great about things!

from here
And since we're going to be here for 3 more years at least, we're going to be moving at the end of May to a larger apartment....I'll take pictures when we move in!

Ah memories...

So today I was cleaning out my Gmail inbox and came across the conversation/emails that Heath and I had before we started dating. I can't believe that we've been married for almost 2 years! The time has flown! and the best part?? I think I love him more and more each day.

Bowling!

So Heath is in a bowling league at BYU, and I'm the groupie that goes to watch each Tuesday night. I love it. Well, this year Heath's team:

Won the Championship!

and Heath won League MVP!

(I took this on my cell phone...do you love the ginormous trophy they gave him?)

He had a season average of 185 and his winning game he bowled a 208!

It's been a fun semester!

Hunger Games

For Christmas this year my awesome Mom and Dad bought Heath and I each a Kindle

The first book I read on it was The Lovely Bones  by Alice Sebold. I loved it. The Kindle screen looks just like the page of a book, I SWEAR! and it is soooo light!

So, when I finished the Lovely Bones, I asked some coworkers what I should read next. They told me about the book The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Holy goodness! I LOVE it!

I am only about a third of the way in, but it is so interesting! And there's a third book in the series coming out this summer sometime! something to do in my spare time!

I would definitely recommend both!

Nursing Shoes Homage

So these are my nursing shoes. I bought them right before I started BYU's nursing program. They have been great. They've been with me through all my clinicals, they went with me to Ecuador, they even came with me on the first day that I started my first nursing job. Before I got rid of them, it only felt right to take a few pictures, write a little blog post. ya know, nothing over the top. ;)

Unfortunately, they've had it. There's not much padding/support left. I've been wearing my Danskos and recently changed to these--never thought I'd wear them.... but here I am

Crocs. They're light, comfortable, and lets face it, they're easy to clean...

BTW, I'm throwing my old shoes away, not donating them--They're a little too dirty to think about someone else wearing them. If you know what I mean.
